This 6" LuxCut III Head features 4 wings of knives with a total of 28 knives. If desired, additional replacement knives and screws can be ordered along (see optional drop-down above!)

New high quality (non-Chinese) bearings are included and come pre-installed onto the shafts!

Please note: There are different cutter heads used in this machine since the machine manufacturer has changed the cutter head over the years. The original G1182 has a 16mm pulley shaft diameter while newer versions use a 5/8” shaft.

You will need to measure the diameter on the end of the shaft on the pulley side. To do this you may have to remove the drive belt cover and maybe the pulley from the cutter head and you will need an accurate dial or digital caliper.

• 5/8” = 0.625” 16mm = 0.630” so 0.005” DIFFERENT, which is quite easy to measure with even an inexpensive dial or digital caliper.
• Pinch the jaws of the caliper perfectly square against the shaft and rotate it to avoid any high or low spots, avoid measuring next to the keyway.

With a measurement of 16mm and an overall length of 8.8” - Use G1182 old
With a measurement of 5/8” and an overall length of 9.4” - Use G6/63 Head

The manufacturer of the Lux Cut Heads currently only offers a head for newer machines with a 5/8” shaft. If you happen to have the old 16mm shaft version, we can offer you a Byrd SHELIX head.
